Friday: 🌤️ Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-80s, lows in the mid-60s.
Saturday: ☀️ Sunny. Highs in the low 90s, lows in the upper 60s.
Sunday: ☀️ Sunny. Highs in the mid-90s, lows near 70.

The weekend is upon us, and with it, our thoughts turn toward recreation. From street fairs to pool parties to local farmer's markets, here’s the 411 from communities around the Kanawha Valley, including Clendenin, Nitro, St. Albans and Montgomery.
It’s a weekend of celebration in the Kanawha Valley. Friday marks the West Virginia State Day Celebration at the Culture Center, the Juneteenth Festival at Slack Plaza, and the Rolls on the River pepperoni roll competition at Haddad Riverfront Park. The Pinch VFD Carnival kicks off Friday in the Elk River area and continues all weekend. The Free Pool Party at St. Albans City Park Pool marks a refreshing end to Friday’s festivities. The celebrations continue Saturday, with the WV Women Work 25th Birthday Celebration in Dunbar, Summerfest in Clendenin, and Foam at the Dome at the State Capitol Complex. Looking to get out of the heat? The Alban Arts Center debuts “Tuck Everlasting” and the Charleston Light Opera Guild finishes their run of “Heathers the Musical” this weekend, while The Basketball Tournament (TBT) takes over the Charleston Coliseum on Friday and Sunday. Finish your weekend on Sunday with An Afternoon With Poet Dough Van Gundy at the Historic McFarland-Hubbard House, the West Side Grow Fest at Phat Daddy’s on Da Tracks, or the free Storyteller’s Stage at City Center at Slack Plaza.
