It’s July 14. PRIDE Community Services, a nonprofit community action agency, will be in the upper Kanawha Valley today offering assistance with financial literacy, employment support and utility assistance. Representatives will be at the Riverside Branch Library, on the campus of Riverside High School, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There’s more details linked in today’s community calendar below.

Residents learn how to collect, reuse rainwater through WVSU Extension rain barrel initiative
Heavy rain can create big problems, but West Virginia State University Extension offers a simple solution that may reduce stormwater runoff that can contribute to flooding and water pollution. A new series of workshops is teaching residents how to collect and reuse rainwater to reduce pressure on local stormwater systems. Participants even receive the tools they need to get started at home.
