It’s March 2. Today’s newsletter is a brief one. I’ve come down with a terrible bug, and I simply don’t have the energy in me to muster through. I’ll be out of commission for a few days, biding my time with rest and recuperation (and an A.M. drop-in to the doc’s office). I’ll try to push out at least one more newsletter on Friday featuring weekend events and a roundup of the week’s obituaries. Otherwise, you can plan on the daily newsletter returning on Monday, March 9 — the Lord willing and the creek don’t rise.

Celtic Calling starts Wednesday. Here’s the schedule.
The annual Celtic Calling Gathering returns to the Kanawha Valley on Wednesday, March 4. The yearly festival — now in its 10th year — celebrates Gaelic heritage through music, dance, theater, sports, and other cultural programming.
